Man in lourve.

OK folks, here’s the lowdown after the first 1,000km on Vredesteins – Centauro ST 100/90 R18 Tubeless 56 H for the front and Centauro ST 130/90 R18 Tubeless 63 V for the rear (I used them over and above my tubes on the BattleCat).

They cost slightly over ₹12,000 a pair (fitted) and look very unassuming. No knobs, very shallow grooves, nothing fancy.

But take them out on the road, and they love the tarmac. They are also rather fond of the rocky, slippery soil and gravel. They don’t care if it’s wet or dry. They don’t care if it’s slushy or slippery. They don’t care if you are a pro rider or an amateur like me. They LOVE to hold on. Like effing glue. Perhaps Fevicol should make them the star of their next ad. रास्ता छोड़ता ही नही यह हीरो। क्या गजब का टायर है, यार!

They give me tremendous confidence on corners, with pillion, at high speeds, and most importantly, while braking. They are built for my style of riding aggressively and braking frequently and quickly, leaning into corners and throttling out hard, flying over broken roads and eating up potholes and speedbreakers for breakfast. In short, they are efficient, dependable, and low maintenance. Just how I like my wheels.

What’s more, they even gave me a slight (around 2kmpl) increase in efficiency! How is that even possible?

I think I’m in love! Again! 💕
