400 million clubs of one.

You know who’s probably gonna give Modi the GE2024 election? Liberals with the following quotes:
‘I am no fan of any political party.’
‘I, too, want Modi out, but who’s the alternative?’
‘I just want Modi to go. But surely, you can’t be serious when you say Rahul for PM!’
‘I am neither a BJP andhbhakt nor a Congressi one.’
‘Not the BJP. But most certainly, not Rahul. Come on, don’t tell me you can’t find someone better.’
‘It won’t be the Congress. One should vote for regional parties.’
‘The era of the Congress is over. Let Rahul make way for fresh blood.’

You know who’s probably gonna give Modi the GE2024 election? Right-wingers with the following quotes:
‘Petrol ₹200 bhi ho jaye…’
‘Chahe mujhe pyaaz-tamaatar kyon na chhodne pade…’
‘Berozgaari badhe, meri naukri chali jaye…’
‘Poori duniya hamaare khilaaf ho jaye…’
‘Koi kuchh bhi kahe…’
‘…aayega to Modi hi!’

That’s the difference between the holier-than-thou self-appointed guardians of morality (the liberal intellectuals) and the actual voters.

Whenever India breaks up because eventually (a distinct possibility, if we don’t arrest this slide anon) and when there’ll be nothing left but violence (‘हिंसा’ is more apt and descriptive of this), it won’t be the hate-blinded voters from the North and the bigoted Savarnas from the South that would have precipitated the tragedy. It would be the liberal intellectual who will be, at the point civil war breaks out and the country burns, explaining the nuances of dialectical materialism and how Rahul’s choice of this word in that context was wrong because he is not liberal enough to be voted for, who will squarely be at fault for the horrors.

The problem with liberals is that no one is perfect for them. No one is the one. No one is pure. Indeed, their club is so exclusive that only they themselves, alone, are members. So, instead of having a group of, say, 400 million liberals in India, which should be enough to win any election, we have 400 million groups of one member each, with every single one of them claiming purity within their group (of one) and alleging every other 399,999,999 groups (of one each) of a flawed understanding of what liberalism must and ought to mean.

That’s why the extremist xenophobic bigots win. That’s why Modi is the PM. And will remain so.

Does that mean there’s no solution? No hope in sight? No way out? Not at all. As long as there are people who are willing to fight to unite right-thinking patriotic citizens to save this beautiful, ancient, grand civilization with such rich history and so much future potential, there will always be hope. That is why I have become more serious about my politics. Serious enough to put my money where my mouth is.

Question is, how serious are you? If you are, get in touch with me. And beware, I’m going to ask you to contribute either money or your time. So, only those who truly think they are committed contact me. Others can share this message and encourage like-minded people to unite.

P.S.: This is not my first time writing about this, though. I have posted earlier here, here, and here. Do take a look.
