Left-liberals and the complications of consistent ethical stands.

Intellectual callisthenics, especially of the liberal variety, to defend their own even when these people have behaved in much the same fashion as those ‘others’ they demonise, are amusing to watch. They seem to employ all the same tools of whataboutery, exceptionalism, and potato-potato nuance of the right-wing bhakt, just using more sophisticated language and complicated words. The hoops they jump through to justify the dissonance they are ashamed of being unable to shake off are the same.

Instead of all the complicated twisting and turning that ends up like a grotesque yoga pose gone wrong, here’s one they could try. It’s simple to do, and is very aptly (and descriptively) called ‘pawanmuktasan‘, meaning literally: the pose to release gas from the system. That at least describes perfectly what you liberal apologists are doing.
