Nepo kids.

I’ve heard too many people feeling too much sympathy for celebrity kids. And while I get that they didn’t choose to be born into celebrity, the reality is that they are where they are. And they need to understand that you can’t pick & choose only the good parts.

Look, if you inherit your parents’ name, their wealth, their business, their network, their power, their estate, their popularity, their chair, and their privilege, you also inherit their reputation.

There is no case to be made for any of the heirs to the various celebrity (whether business, showbiz, sports, whatever) thrones to be shielded from public limelight, jealousy, or even mockery. It comes with the turf.

Remember that with great privilege comes great scrutiny.

P.S.: Even the accountants agree. An heir inherits both assets and liabilities of the person they are inheriting from. So, what I am saying isn’t unusual or unique in any way.

P.P.S.: That said, just like these kids most certainly don’t deserve nor have earned any of the power, pelf, or privilege their parents pass on, let us not fool ourselves into thinking that they deserve all the bad press too. It cuts both ways. My post is about how they have no right to complain, nor do the common public have anything to feel guilty about when equating these kids with their parents. I did not mean to imply that they always deserve this.

P.P.P.S.: Ditto caste.
