All the oppressive laws and institutions that the Congress made are being used by the BJP to persecute their opponents and abuse the very Constitution that made it possible for them to be able to do so.
All those who are ruing the arbitrary arrests and jailing of dissidents and dissenters today, mark my words: When (not if, क्योंकी दुनिया गोल है, बरखुरदार) the BJP loses power, the very same laws and institutions they have made to scare and brutalise the opposition and subvert democracy will be used against them. Every little action and word they are setting a precedent with will come back to bite them. Soon.
Regardless of how high an esteem we hold any leader from our past, present, or foreseeable future, when faced with a choice of perpetuating or dismantling a system of oppression they have inherited, every single one of them will choose the former. Every single time.

Me: [Finding a subject worth talking about now]: ' Ah well, that's what we'll talk of tomorrow on your morning run. It's very interesting the way science is done and our understanding of the universe is expanded.'
Kym: 'Can we talk of unicorns instead?'
Me: 'Sure. How do you know they exist? That's an interesting question too that you can use the scientific method to answer.'
Kym: 'Do they have to exist for us to talk about them? We can just pretend they do for an hour and have fun.'
