A question that needs answering.

Every time I decide not to write on Agnipath, I meet young men who tell me another angle to it. Here’s what someone told me this morning: ‘सब कुछ गरीबों से ले रहे हैं, साहब।

Their love for their ‘Modiji’ aside, the question they ask is pertinent: Why are the poor made to pay in the name of progress and frugality, development and strength, nationalism and culture? If the country is short of money, why do you want to take it from my livelihood? Why not the rich folks? In short: why are the rich not pulling their weight and the poor burdened with saving this nation?
