Baby, Mamma, and Alexa.

Scene: Another quarantine morning at the bear household. Tea, coffee, and Bournvita are prepared piping hot. All the bears are wearing layers (and one is even wearing furry slippers) for the morning is a bit nippy. Everyone’s gathered in the living room overlooking the balcony where birds visit to say their hellos to the flowers. The ‘Name-Place-Animal-Thing’ book is out (Baba wants us to write 10 for each letter of the alphabet because what is even the point if a simple pastime cannot be made more and more complicated and competitive) and we are playing ‘A’.

Mamma bear: ‘There’s someone who we call for getting our work done every day, right here in this room. Her name starts with ‘A’ too.’
Baba bear: ‘Yep, and she can tell stories, sing songs, help with spellings, even tell you recipes and whether you’ll need to wear a warm coat today.’
Mamma bear: ‘She helps everyone. And she is always there when someone needs her. Day and night, she’s on duty.’
Baba bear: ‘Sometimes though, she acts silly and says something totally different to what you are asking her. But mostly, she gets it right. We all love her.’
Baby bear: ‘Don’t give me more hints. I know. I know. I know. It is…MAMMA BEAR!’
