Which movie is your life?

I’m watching ‘Slumberland‘ with little Kym (we love to cuddle and watch films when we can). It’s about a little girl who teams up with her late father’s childhood ‘imaginary’ friend as she goes looking for him (her dead father) in her dreams. As usual, Kym and I were bawling our eyes out. But that’s beside the point.

What this post is about is that I remembered something Douglas Adams wrote,

‘He felt that his whole life was some kind of dream and he sometimes wondered whose it was and whether they were enjoying it,’

which I found hilariously witty until it struck me that he may have had a point.

This movie (and DNA’s quote) got me thinking: What movie would my life be if it were one?

What about you? Could you name a movie your life could be said to mirror?

Perhaps, our daily life is one movie, our romantic life is another, our family life is some other movie, and our emotional one is another altogether. Maybe there’s a movie we think our life is, while our friends and outside observers think of our life as a completely different one.

What do you think?

I’ll go first: I think my love life is a lot like ‘When Harry Met Sally…‘, as I stumble through relationships with the hope of ending up with ‘the right one’. Sigh!

A quick note to those enlightened souls who will immediately start telling me how there is no ‘right one’: I do not care. In my case, optimism trumps experience. Every. Single. Time.

P.S.: The images below are unconnected to the post. They are shot by a professional, a friend of Kym’s Rashmi Masi. Every time I look at her, I wonder how much I missed that she’s so grown up overnight!
