Baba & baby bear’s day out.

So, this happened. Kym and I did a story writing session on how Goldilocks (‘Goldilox, as per her) would tell the story from her perspective. It took three rewrites and several hours of discussion, because you see, she does not see what the bears went through; just that she woke up to see them standing over her, which is a novel perspective for a child to get her head around a story she’s grown up on.

(Note: The final draft was written only on the next day, and so the date on the story shows 19th, though this post is put up on the 18th. I added it later.)

Once done, she said she wanted to show me something downstairs.

We headed to the society’s gymnasium hall, where she said she wanted me to play ‘Blinding Lights’, her favourite song from Ms Marvel. And she started to dance. I sat around for a minute maybe, before realising that I wanted to dance too. So, I got up, and I did.

She was surprised at first, and then broke into laughter (if you’ve never heard an 8yo laugh uninhibitedly and loudly, you’ve not lived). I asked her if we could record it. Unfortunately, we realised that the music shuts off when the video recorder is turned on.

So, we just giggled and danced and made faces and contorted our bodies in funny shapes, humming it loudly. Then, later, I added the music as an overlay.

Now, we are both sweaty and tired, but swinging from the monkey bar in the garden (because that’s what you do, apparently, once you’re done dancing). So, yes. I’m hangin’ with my homie, if you know what I mean.
