Masterstrokes. And winning hearts.

Here’s a prediction: When our respected and humble FM, on the instructions of our revered and empathetic, UNESCO-certified, highly educated yashaswi PM, taking into consideration the pain and hardship of his beloved middle class subjects, sorry, investors, reduces or abolishes LTCG tax, it will be hailed by industry titans and social media influencers (sometimes the same person, wining all the hearts on X) as groundbreaking and visionary, and even considered a masterstroke by the exact same people who have been denuded and bankrupted by this very tax and its fallout, who will then go into paroxysmal orgasms, thrashing about on social media, trolling everyone who speaks truth as having a “negative attitude,” branding those that show them the mirror as anti-nationals, and asking those that point to the dismal state of our economy, society, and the future to go to Pakistan, taking their time to gloat in their victory, because they have a surfeit of it (time and bandwidth), given that they are not otherwise gainfully employed, as they go around asking everyone what they have done for their country if they can’t even feel pride for the soldier standing guard on the Siachen glacier (without bothering about any sequiturs or their non-existence), even if the person they are trolling is literally that soldier, now retired, and dares to have an opinion in what he mistakenly considers the democratic republic he served to keep safe.

Who’s giving me odds?

P.S.: Yes, yes, I know. Nehru had Capital Gains Tax too. The next time I meet him, I’ll strongly insist he resign on moral grounds, OK? May I have my Atacama now? No, sorry, Sahara? Gobi? Kalahari? Namib? Whatever.
