Fragile egos and small dicks.

I wrote a post about the Maha Kumbh’s publicised numbers.

In that post, I praise India. Its culture. Its history. I am (more than) respectful of all faiths. I abuse no one. I do not even name a politician. I applaud the organisers. I commend the administration. I am polite. I am restrained. All I do is raise a small, reasonable doubt about one figure. I supply numbers. I offer logic. I do the equivalent of wondering aloud. Not hard questioning. It is as mild and polite as I can get, given my background on these topics.

And here is what I get in return (from the various social media platforms I posted it on):
~ Death threats.
~ Disconnections and blocks.
~ Accusations of being a foreign agent.
~ Abusive DMs.
~ Comments calling for my removal from the platform.

And more such unhinged nonsense.

Am I scared? No. Far from it. I am used to this. It is not new for me to face this kind of backlash. But usually, it comes when I post sharp, biting takes on religion, politics, or society. This? This was a first.

This post was so mild, some of my closest friends joked that I must have written it and then asked ChatGPT to water it down. That is how soft it was. It was uncharacteristically gentle.

So, here is my real question:

How small does your nunu have to be for you to lose your mind over something as innocuous as this?

The best comment on this that I have received came from a dear friend on Facebook. I thought it deserved its own screenshot!
