Exit polls 2024.

I’ve neither dismissed the exit polls nor accepted them as gospel.

Not a wishful thinker.
But also not a gullible cultist.

Let’s wait another 24 hours. We’ll know for sure. I am hoping my prediction (from whatever resources I had at my disposal) of 230-250 for NDA comes true. But if it doesn’t, it doesn’t mean I give up. It just means I learned something, and that has made me smarter and better prepared for the next time.

Let tomorrow come. Doodh ka doodh paani ka paani.

But whatever it is, we have a fight on our hands. And the absolute stupidest decision we can take is to surrender and retreat to our privileged cocoons. We must not. Now isn’t the time to give up on India. In fact, now is the worst time to give up on India.

We privileged people can afford to brush off a loss or celebrate a win with a toast and then return to our regular lives. Most can’t. Our privilege gives us the power and resources to keep fighting even when all is lost for the unprivileged. And with great power comes great responsibility. It is our bounden duty to fight.

My Baba used to say:

“The best course of action when stuck in a muck is to keep walking. Because if you do that, you have a non-zero chance of escaping. If you stand still, you have a 0% chance.”

So, friends, tagda raho. Aur badhtey jao.

The woods are lovely, dark and deep,
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.

See you tomorrow.

Note: This is not a concession post. I have not conceded that we have lost. In fact, I’m saying the fat lady hasn’t sung yet, and we should wait.
