Woody. Meet Guy.

A mutual friend just messaged that my first ex-wife, whom I last met in court in August 2011 on the day our divorce was granted, just called her and asked her to ask me if I wanted my CD & DVD collection back since she wasn’t using it. Huh?

In H2G2, DNA put this thought in his protagonist’s mind:

“He felt that his whole life was some kind of dream, and he sometimes wondered whose it was and whether they were enjoying it.”

He might as well have been speaking of me. Indeed, many a time, I have wondered if I am playing some sort of a side-hero part in a cross between a Woody Allen film and a Guy Ritchie movie. Some situations are so surreal (and oftentimes morbid) that the audience forgets that it is so rare as to be literally incredible. Because the whole thing is so funny as to make them suspend their disbelief for the moment.

My life’s like that. The only time I am not wondering how something is possible is when I am laughing at it.

Here’s a random photo of me channelling my inner Ashok Kumar at Kaas Plateau, near Satara.

“मैं बन का पंछी बन के संग संग डोलूँ रे…”
