OK, a lot to unpack here.
Why is she wearing two watches?
Because her Ajoba used to and she just felt like it today. Also, she couldn’t decide which one. So, both.
What’s with the colour combination of her costume?
She’s moving away from her childhood style of being dressed like some sort of a prim & propah lady and has days when she becomes bohemian to an extent that her parents are left wondering if they had twins and this is the other one. That doesn’t mean she doesn’t rock the more elegant type of stuff. Mostly, she does. Just that she has days when she’d be the princess and days when she’d rather be the witch. And she’s cool with both. The only problem for her parents (now) and her friends and colleagues (later) is/will be to determine which one she is on any given day.
The mug?
Yeah, that. It came with the tee. There’s a poster in there as well. That’s a set. The poster will go on the wall next to our study table and the mug shall be put on Bournvita duty starting tomorrow. But since it was here today, why not use it as a prop, eh?
And the oversized tee?
It’s now officially a dress. It was bought with the hope that those who make authorised merchandise for Disney know the TG to which Ms Marvel appeals instantaneously and that when they say XS on the label of a tee that has a print of Kamala Khan in her Ms Marvel costume blowing a bubble, it is for kids. Apparently, that’s too much to hope for, and this is what arrived in the mail. It’d take about ten more years to fit. And we can’t wait. So, undeterred, we simply wore it as a blue dress and paired it with black tights, pink boots, sky blue hairbands, two pigtails, and an oversized pink, white, green, and blue printed bag.
And now, if you’ll excuse us, we are off to our music class.
