It’s a standard dog movie. Cute dog meets tough guy. Tough guy acts tough. Tough guy relents. Tough guy softens up. Dog changes tough guy. Tough guy changes dog. It’s all happy. Until it’s not. We all know how this ends, without me spelling it out (you don’t need spoilers in a dog-meets-man story). There’s love. And there’s redemption. As expected. Of course, I cried. Like everyone else. You will too. Movie delivers what it was supposed to. It ends. Everyone’s fine.
That said, even if it was thoroughly predictable as a movie, what impressed me most was the music. They’ve taken some kick-ass songs from around the country and the world and used them in the right situations. Just a superb idea.
Now, I want to listen to the soundtrack. My new earworms are Willyecho’s ‘Welcome to the fire’ and Dhiti S Lotlikar’s ‘O’Ga’
Go watch it. Ideally, with your kids. They’ll love the dog.
An aside: I smiled when I heard the name of the Punjabi character. Mulle ki daud…Sigh!
