If I could, I’d use Ryan Reynolds as my brand ambassador for whatever I am starting next. This man is brilliant. He is, as Karthik Natarajan very insightfully states, the Tom Hanks of branding at this point.
In fact, I don’t even care what business I get into next. He’s on it. I might even start a business to get to make an advertisement with him in it. Yeah, that’s how powerful he is when he’s pushing a brand. If you look at anything he’s plugging, a very important part of it is the product/brand. Even though he’s being him all the time (or Deadpool, which is kind of the same), one does not just remember him after the advertisement is over. One remembers the brand, whether it be Aviation Gin, Mint Mobile, Match.com, or in this case, 1Password. to do that requires nothing short of genius.
And brilliance is exactly what he exudes in every interaction with the public. My friend has already compared him with Tom Hanks. But, if I had to find someone who stays as much in character as he does, I’d say it was Sacha Baron Cohen. Yep, that’s it. Ryan Reynolds is the Sacha Baron Cohen of advertising.
