India accidentally fired a literal (though thankfully unarmed) missile into Pakistan showing how shoddy and irresponsible those manning these weapons of mass destruction are on our side.
Pakistan’s missile defence system, its Air Force, its outer protective ring either didn’t know about it till it penetrated over 100km into their territory and crashed, or knew but were unable to stop it or do anything about it, exposing their ineptness at best and impotency at worst.
Both sides want this embarrassing incident to be brushed under the carpet as soon as possible because it shows up just how all that money that the respective governments claimed they had invested into the country’s defence has been used, and exactly how able and ready the respective armies are to do their job. It is like that proverb in Hindi when two thieves meet and decide it best not to squeal on the other for the risk of being caught out themselves: ‘तेरी भी चुप, मेरी भी चुप।’
But today’s post isn’t about that. It is to highlight a fact that this supposedly supersonic missile travelled at the same altitude (around 40,000 feet) and in the same air space as literally dozens of civilian aircraft do and did at the same time as it was on its fateful journey. Imagine what would have happened if a Pakistani or an Indian, or even an American or Russian civilian airliner were to be hit and hundreds of innocent lives lost. Imagine all its implications. And tell me, as an atheist (as most of my readers probably are), do you now believe there’s a God?
P.S: Because I know the kind of nutcases and intellectually challenged idiots that come to comment on my writing sometimes, let me clarify that I did not mean the last line. It is an attempt at gallows humour, if you can call it that. Sigh!
P.P.S: For those who can’t see it, this is also a ‘Masterstroke’. Pakistan is now scared of Modi’s India because it knows its defences are weak and India can penetrate at will. Ghar mein ghusega bhi, aur marega bhi. It was no accident. Modi hai to mumkin hai. Modi! Modi! Modi!
