Our first evening workout.

So, this happened. Yadav Sir told Baba bear today that we need to up my game. We are already fast and have the stamina to last at least 10km, if not more. But we need to build consistency in our pace as well as core strength. An evening workout schedule was prescribed to resolve these issues. And today was the first day. Did we tell you we love first days of anything?

But first, after our morning run and workout, a photo session was held, with us wearing all our 10km finisher medals, just so as to build some self-confidence in us (that’s what Baba bear and Yadav Sir said; we have no clue what gave them the idea that we lack any self-confidence though!). And then, we went on with our day, chess, piano, Mandarin, syllabus, and just like that, it was evening. We were excited because it would be our first-ever evening workout. What lay in store for us today?

Off we went to the gym. It was the first time we were allowed on the treadmill, and let us vouch for this one: it is a blast! We wore our Walkman headphones, blasting ‘Happy‘, ‘Better When I’m Dancing‘, and ‘Something’s Gotta Give‘, and just let our feet do the talking. Baba bear was keeping his hand just behind our back, in case we stumbled or slipped, and was managing the speed controls. We started at a leisurely pace of 7kmph and slowly increased every 60 seconds to reach 10kmph in the last 3 minutes, covering just north of 2km in all. At the end, we were tired (if you want a tip, here’s one: it’s all in the breathing) but exhilarated. Baba bear says this is the ‘runner’s high’. We don’t care what it’s called, but we love it!

Then, we did a quick plank for 100 seconds, headstand, handstand, arch, and some hanging before running off to play with our friends. We’ll be back at 1900h like every weekday, to have our dinner, shower, brush, write our daily email, listen to some piano on Alexa (you should try the Turkish March, or Mozart’s Rondo Alla Turca), and lie down reading, ‘The Secret Seven’ (Aditi atya gifted it to us) until our eyes close.

How’s your evening looking?
