Is the Universe inevitable?

Would the Earth, if it had to restart, end up here in more or less the same way 4.543 billion years later? Is there some sort of inevitability to the Universe? What if there is no free will at all? What if there were no truly random events? What if everything is connected in such a way as to never allow any one piece, however small (or large), to move independently of all other pieces? What if every piece is connected to every other piece and not just to some pieces?

I know these questions have bothered philosophers for ages, and the question of free will is one of the most debated of all times. But given that there are no definite answers, I guess it is all right to sit down once in a while and think about them.
