The downside of selling your soul to the devil.

The tragedy is that in this entire saga, Wankhede and his family will be destroyed while the people pulling the strings above him will simply replace him with another pliable officer. If, on the other hand, Wankhede had prevailed, Shah Rukh Khan’s family would have been destroyed. Once again, with not a single scar on the puppeteers.

They will keep finding another one who will sell his soul to fill the breach. And this fresh blood of a government officer will find fresh prey of a celebrity for their masters. The fight will ensue once again. Regardless of which side ‘wins’, there’ll be losers. And losers. The paymasters and string-pullers will have a laugh. And life will go on.

Until the next officer who’s sold their soul to the devil finds the next celebrity target to distract the people.

I have said it before. And I’ll say it again. This government is all panem et circenses. But without the panem.
