What is the secret of success?

And, as someone puts it succinctly on this thread, ‘a pinch of mild sociopathy added to the mix.’ Yep, that about completes the list.

Of course, this does not mean that every highly successful person has come up this way. Not the very least you, dear reader. You, the epitome of castelessness, classlessness, gender-blindness, and privilege-agnosticism, have always worked hard, treated everyone fairly, never used your ancestral social capital, or the various ‘club memberships’ (you know which ones I am speaking of) you automatically (though completely against your wishes, I am sure) are a part of, and other stuff that came your way just as a happy accident of birth (even as you resisted and disowned it). You are not included in this. You are a saint. You are beautiful. You are unique. Just like every other person reading this. Each one of you has come up by the dint of sheer hard work, perseverance, industry, intellect, education, merit, and fairplay, never ever accepting a leg up or a handout, which you have always been vehemently opposed to from start, because they do not fit your vision of a meritocratic world.

So, this is not about you. You are different. You are guiltless. You are pure. You are flawless. You are perfect. All of you. Yeah, sure. Why not?
